The Island

Events

Tenerife is proud of its authentic traditions, fiestas, gastronomy and friendly people. Beaches

On the island there are around 70 kilometres of beaches where you can enjoy a variety of activities, including pedalos, jet skis and parasailing. Or you can just relax, let the sea breeze cool you down and have a quick dip whenever you fancy. Most beaches on Tenerife have been awarded the Blue Flag for the quality of the water, the services available and their easy access. Beaches with golden sand are mainly to be found in the south, from Güímar to Adeje. Las Vistas, Las Galletas, El Médano, Torviscas and Fañabé are some good examples. Outdoor Adventures

For some people a holiday is not a holiday without doing their favourite sport. Tenerife is for you if your idea of relaxation is to ride into the horizon on a road or mountain bike, take to the windswept shores on a windsurfing board, put your trainers on and run across mountains. Thanks to its excellent conditions, the island is appreciated by professional athletes who come to train and prepare for elite competitions. Cyclists Chris Froome and Alexander Vinokurov, swimmer Britta Steffen, tennis players Ana Ivanovich and Tomas Berdych, football teams, national swim teams, and more, are some of the athletes who train in Tenerife.
